Blaming Busy // Sneaking into Summer ..

Fashion // Lifestyle

Woah! How do I work this thing again? It sure has been a while and well overdue so lets get straight to it.

Is it just me, or have the last four months flown by within a blink of an eye? In fact, has this year actually happened? As the year approaches a close I seem to wonder what made it go by so quickly and to be honest, I think the answer is in the year itself - 2016. It's 2016 and everyone's lives are chaotic, however, in the realm of chaos in which we live, we have thrown away the ability to personalise open conversation. I hear it on the daily with almost every person I come across and am totes guilty of doing it myself - "Hey, how're you, how've you been?" "Yeah, great thanks, busy", and thats it. Blaming busy are we? Can we even use that as an excuse anymore? Is it even an excuse? It's almost like we're all on the same track of a broken record...

In the midst of todays hustle, we've become so lazy when it comes to open conversation and blame, what has naturally become, a universal factor of life in 2016 - being busy. It's something I've been super conscious of lately; hoping to reform something that is such a rarity towards today's generation.

(brb, Im really busy...)

Anyway, what about this weather? It looks like Summer has arrived a little early this year. Actually, it was less of an 'arrival' and more like a crash landing. 40° days already?! Welcome to outback Queensland! Hey there shorts, linen tops and floppy hats, it's so good to see you again.

Black on Black ..

Fashion

Is there such a thing as too much black? No. Just no.

Seasons may come and go, and new trends may parade up and down the runway, however, an all black outfit will continue to be one of the most timeless and classic combinations you can pull together in an instant. Being in the industry that I am, its only natural that an all black combo is a staple of mine and that it is for most people, due to its effortless ability to be taken from casual to formal and from day to night. To do so, I believe its all in the layering and shoes - Dress-up a simple 'tee-shirt and shorts' situation by adding a structured blazer and a pair of patent leather brogues - Simple!

Distressed and best dressed ..

Ladies & Men's Shopping

Making the most of classic wardrobe essentials

These days, time is of the essence and everybody (obviously speaking generally) lives busy lifestyles. Whatever life you lead, wardrobe essentials are a key factor in looking your best at all times, disregarding the events or occasions you may face on a daily basis. I think we could all agree that somewhere, even deep in that wardrobe of yours, there is at least one pair of denim jeans, whether they be your classic colours such as blue or black, or something a bit edgier like an acid-wash or ripped style. Pairing denim with a basic white button-up top is one of my sought-after combos when I can't decide what to wear. The key to dressing it up? It's all in the accessories.
For the guys, add a pair of sneakers, a wide-brimmed fedora, a belt with statement hardware, a minimal tote, and a timepiece to complete the look. Finish with a spritz of your favourite fragrance.

For the gals, add some minimal hardwear and a statement clutch. Slip on some strappy heels (so everyone knows you really mean business) and add a spritz of your favourite fragrance. Finish with a high, messy ponytail and you're good to go.

Overdone was a word not heard of in the hair department at Milan Fashion Week. Stylists created looks that essentially let the garments do the talking - portraying ease and minimalism to the consumer - A clever technique to encourage the buyer to create the complete look from home. Hair Stylists ignored the editorial aesthetic that is usually seen on the runway at Fashion Week and mastered more natural, raw and everyday styles -  a reminder from designers all over the globe, that high fashion can be worn on every occasion.

Fashion

Doin' it the way I wanna

WEARING: French Connection mesh tee | Stray (@ Roger David) shorts | Adidas Originals Superstar sneakers | Luna Shades shades

It's without a doubt that my go-to colour combo for this season has been white-on-white. Chic on both the ladies and the lads, an all white combo gives the wearer  the ability to truly make it their own. Whether you dress it up for an evening out, or dress it down during the day - you're bound to draw attention wherever you may be.

BALMAIN X HM - Is it really worth the hype?

Fashion

The collection EVERYBODY has been talking about

For the past few months there has been one collection on every fashion lover's lips (and reserved in their bank accounts) - BALMAIN X HM. Balmain creative director, Olivier Rousteing, combined his bold, heavily structured, military-like ritzy designs with H&M's laid back, however, aesthetically fashion forward brand to create, well... Let's just say, 'a dream come true.' The collection features some key wardrobe staples juxtaposed against some gutsy garments that only the daring would think about wearing. Only the bravest of A-Class designers would even think of collaborating with a brand that targets completely different demographics in terms of style and economics, however, the two labels kept true to their unique aesthetics which resulted in a match made in heaven; Not that we had any doubts!
